The production for "Wolverine 3" movie 2017 has begun. This will be Hugh Jackman's last stint as the iconic mutant.
According to Collider, producer Simon Kinberg has revealed during the press day for "X-Men: Apocalypse" in London that "Wolverine 3" has started filming. "It's a very radical, bold, different Wolverine than you've ever seen in any of these movies," he teased.
Kinberg also confirmed that "Wolverine 3" is rated R. "It takes place in the future, and as you and others have reported, it is an R-rated movie," he added. "It's violent, it's kind of like a western in its tone. It's just a very cool, different film."
Although the producer neither confirms nor denies Patrick Stewart's appearance in the "Wolverine 3" movie 2017, the Professor X actor himself admitted that he is set to reprise his role in the upcoming film.
"I think what you say is true," Stewart said. "There is a project in development. I understand that Professor Xavier will be making more than an appearance, however, and that intrigues me."
The "Wolverine 3" movie 2017 is still untitled. It will also star Boyd Holbrook as the villain, Richard E. Grant, Stephen Merchant and Eriq Lasalle.
Meanwhile, SuperHeroHype reported that Laura Kinney, also known as X-23, could be introduced in the "Wolverine 3" movie 2017. She made her comic book debut in 2004 and appeared in "X-Men: Evolution."
X-23 originated from a group that was attempting to recreate the Weapon X program. She is the 23rd and successful attempt of the group to clone Wolverine, thus earning her moniker.
Similar to Wolverine, X-23 has superhuman strength, reflexes, agility as well as healing factor. She only has two claws on her hands, though, but has an extra that can pop out of each of her feet.
It was previously reported that "Orange is the New Black" and "Fear the Walking Dead" actress Elizabeth Rodriguez is already in negotiations to be a part of the "Wolverine 3" cast. This led to speculations that she will take on X-23's character.
The "Wolverine 3" release date is slated for Mar. 3, 2017.
