Robert Downey Jr. movies to be excited about in the near future are "Sherlock Holmes 3" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming." There are also reports that he will reprise his role as billionaire superhero Tony Stark in "Iron Man 4."
Collider reported that "Sherlock Holmes 3" may finally happen this year. The follow-up to 2011's sequel "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" has already been confirmed for production but has been hindered by the schedules of its team.
With a team that comprises of Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law and Guy Ritchie, it can be quite difficult to gather them all together. However, during a press tour for "Captain America: Civil War," the "Iron Man" star has confirmed that he has already spoken with Ritchie about "Sherlock Holmes 3."
Producer Joel Silver has also confirmed that production will be happening before the year ends. "It looks like it could happen this fall," he said. "Downey said he wants to do it."
"He's gotta launch into another 'Avengers' movie, right after the New Year, so we're trying to get it done. We have a script that we like. Jude [Law] is available and Downey is available, and we're hoping we can get it done. If it works, great. If not, we'll do it another time. But, it looks like it could happen now."
"Avengers: Infinity War" will begin in November with "Captain America: Civil War" directors Joe and Anthony Russo taking the helm. The publication noted that Robert Downey Jr. may not be due on set until 2017.

Tom Holland, who debuted as the web slinger in "Civil War," will reprise his role for "Spider-Man: Homecoming." Marisa Tomei, Zendaya, Tony Revolori and Laura Harrier are also part of the film's cast.
