It does not bode well for the Dylan O'Brien owing to the previous accident that he underwent while shooting for the "Maze Runner: Death Cure." It stands out that the release date has been pushed back further to 2018 as Dylan O'Brien is still on recovery.
"Maze Runner: The Death Cure" has been postponed until 2018 to make way for O'Brien's recovery. Looking back, O'Brien was injured during an on-set car accident in March. The first "Maze Runner" film earned over $100 million at the domestic box office, while "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" clocked in at around $85 million, and despite some fan concern, though, the films are relatively inexpensive to make and do well on home video and in the international market, so the third film was on track until O'Brien's accident, reports Comic Book.
Wes Ball is directing the film, which sees O'Brien's character is on a mission to find a cure to a disease known as The Flare and The Death Cure will adapt the third instalment of the Maze Runner trilogy of novels and will, barring spinoff or prequel potential, likely be the last film in the franchise, reports the same post.
Hollywood Reporter also mentioned of how the incident occurred. According to the report, O'Brien was in a harness on top of a moving vehicle when he was pulled off the vehicle unexpectedly and hit by another vehicle and his injuries were described, "concussion, facial fracture and lacerations."
When the productions were halted, it stands out that O'Brien's injuries were far more complex and complicated as well. Given the incident, the "Maze Runner: Death Cure" will return on the big screen by 2018, and it is just about time that O'Brien would be fit enough to reprise his role.
