Networks are already recognizing the capabilities of women. Actresses Cristin Milioti and Nina Pedrad are taking over a comedy pilot udner FX Fearless. The half hour pilot will be written by "How I Met Your Mother" actress Cristin Milioti. She played the "Mother" of the television's title. The pilot will co-star "New Girl" funny gal Nina Pedrad who also wrote "30 Rock."
The two women will not only star in the comedy pilot but will also executive produce the show. Between the two, Pedrad is the showrunner. According to Deadline, Milioti willplay Maxine, who is the lead in the show. With her squad behind her, they navigate the modern adult world. Pedrad will be playing Natalie, Maxine's bestie. Two other co-stars will join the cast but have not been named yet. Amy is another bestie and Maxine's stepbrother Landis is the male character in the squad. In a quote from Entertainment Weekly, the two female power houses couldn't wait to get started. "We are so excited to be working with a network as fearless as FX and are honored to potentially join the fives of shows about women on television today," they said.
AVClub describes Maxine as a wide-eyed cynic and an entitled actress-turned-process-server who takes lemons and makes a fire out of lemons, burning herself and others.
After the comedy pilot has been ordered at FX, the following were added to the mix: "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia's" Rob McElhenney, Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton, and 3 Arts' Michael Rotenberg and Nick Frenkel are also part of the team.
The roles of Amy and Landis have not yet been casted and the comedy pilot has yet to be titled.
