After the unveiling of the iPhone 7 and 7 plus, fans are anticipating the next step for the tech giant Apple.
The long-rumored MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to be released within the year and will hopefully bring exciting changes on its design and features. Significant alterations are rumored to appear from Apple's signature Mac line.
According to Bloomberg, Apple is yet to unveil the upcoming Mac hardware line ,which may include different versions of the iMac desktop, MacBook Air, a 5k standalone monitor (in collaboration with LG Electronics Inc.) and a thinner MacBook Pro.
Rumors have been spreading around that MacBook Pro 2016 may include changes like a multi-functional USB-C port, which allows faster connection of the Mac with other devices. According to reports, Apple might go for an AMD chipset using a 64-bit A10 fusion, which is durable for PC-like processing which is exactly what a MacBook Pro does.
Apple Insider also reported on the new specs of the MacBook Pro 2016, citing that it will be faster and thinner, unlike the previous versions. This means that there is a possible increase of 10 to 20 percent in CPU performance and a 30 percent extension in its battery life. This may happen if Apple chooses to integrate Intel's latest advancement, the Skylake processor. If that is so, fans may also expect for a wireless charging capability that no other competitors have offered yet.
The new MacBook is also expected to feature 5k displays with a resolution of 5120x2880 pixels. This is the most HD that Apple will bravely take out into the market. It is also rumored to be offered in two variants: an 8GB RAM and a 16GB RAM, which features SSD (solid-state drive), upgradable to 1 terabyte.
A flatter keyboard with a new digital function key display above, called the "Dynamic Function Row," is also hinted to appear in MacBook Pro. This will allow users to do more common tasks for different programs faster and smarter. It is touch-sensitive and will be an OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display. This will run under Apple's recently released operating system, the macOS Sierra, which includes additional features such as Siri on dekstop, ApplePay, new animations in iMessage, better iCloud transactions, and a sync with Apple devices such as the AppleWatch.
For the external specifications, the laptop is expected to feature 13" and 15" versions with high-resolution Retina displays. It will also be thinner and lighter. TouchID will also bring fingerprint touch technology with the latest MacBook Pro, which may allow faster log-ins and authentication mechanisms for ApplePay, etc.
The new MacBook Pro is expected to be announced in fall of 2016, with a possible release date of October. Price are expected to run $1,099 for the 13-inch non-Retina model, $1,119 for the Retina and $2,099 for the 2.5 GHz 15-inch version.
