Though Disney has not yet released an official memo on whether the spin-off "Girl Meets World" will make a season four return. A lot of signs are pointing towards the positive as several issues have been resolved to make way for a return to TV.
According to Movie News Guide, one of the main issues surrounding the whole show is an apparent rift between the two stars, Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter, who plays Riley and Maya on the show.
Rumors say that even though the two play best buddies on the show, their real life counterparts is not as rosy. In fact, Blanchard has been accused on her social media of faking a relationship with her co-stars.
This has since been debunked by Sabrina Carpenter, who plays the lovable and plucky Maya, in an interview with Seventeen Magazine. She defended her co-star against allegations of being fake towards her cast mates by saying:
"It's so much easier, I guess, to spread hate. I think the most important thing is that we all know we love each other."
So the whole issue of the two having some kind of massive dislike for each other might have been a bit overblown. It seems like there might be a little tension between the two but it is said to be resolved.
Another issue for Disney are the fan's clamor to have a second season or just move the show to Freeform. As of writing, the petition has already garnered 50,000 signatures and figures to keep growing if Disney still refuses to give an announcement regarding the fate of the show.
If the studio does decide to stop the show, fans should expect the signatures to at least double in size. A good way for them to save face is to move the show to Freeform, so fans could have a proper farewell to the show.
