Disney is on the talks in creating a live adaptation of "Jungle Book 2". The "Jungle Book" sequel will dig deeper into Mowgli's past.
Director Jon Favreau and Writer Justin Marks will return for the upcoming movie. Producer Brigham Taylor will also return for the upcoming movie.
The Hollywood Reporter reported that Disney has every reason to be happy for the new sequel. "Jungle Book" has generated great reviews and earned a lot on the box office.
It brought about $31.7 million and topped the box office charts. It grossed around $8.4 million in India, where it ranked second upon its Western release.
The success of "Jungle Book" can be credited to their marketing campaign. Jobs and Hire reported the marketing strategy used by Disney on their promotion of the film. The site reported that the studio probably used the Toss Red Meat to the base strategy. They explained that they enticed viewers through fliers and posters.
Having it in 3D also helped them attract viewers. Through IMAX special promos, they were able to emphasize its 3D factor.
Disney also used their theme park to promote "Jungle Book." They showed exclusive footage of the movie and sold merchandise related to the film. Furthermore, "Jungle Book 2" is not the only live action series that Disney has lined up. There will "Cruella" which is a spin-off of "101 Dalmatians" with Emma Stone.
Disney will also create "Maleficent 2" which will see the return of Angelina Jolie in the titular role. "Tinker Bell" will also return on screens with the help of Reese Witherspoon as the star, Variety reported.
There will also be a sequel to "Mary Poppins" with Emily Blunt and Lin Manuel-Miranda. The site reported that "Jungle Book 2" and "Mary Poppins 2" are still far along but these movies will be soon hit theaters nationwide. Fans just need to wait a little longer.
