Over its 247 episodes, "Supernatural" is already the longest running fantasy-horror TV series in CW and WB history as being stated by Mark Pedowitz, CW President. Since 2010 through 2015, "Supernatural" gained numerous awards such as "People's Choice Award for Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show", "Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Chemistry" and "SFX Award for Best TV Show".
On "Supernatural", the Winchester brothers played by Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles continued haunting demonic creatures from the underworld. Last season, Sam and Dean found themselves battling an apocalyptic force, "The Darkness". And now, the Winchester brothers were going to fight with the most destructive enemy they've ever seen, seeking help from their human and supernatural allies.
Though the long-running TV series gained numerous awards, speculations were circulating online that "Supernatural" season 13 would be cancelled. According to TV Series Finale, current ratings of the said show were spiraling down. Would this be the possibility of "Supernatural" season 13 be cancelled?
On an exclusive interview with Entertainment Weekly with Padalecki, he said that they wanted to end the show if they got 300 episodes. "When we get to 300, I think Ackles and I will think it might be time to say bye. There's a chance that changes, but we certainly do not take it for granted that we're going to make it to 300.", he said.
The executive producer of "Supernatural", Bob Singer said that they've already talked about the potential ending of the show. It was not yet confirmed if the show would have its end on season 13 or perhaps be extended up to season 14.
It was believed that CW president wanted to make season 13 and more as long as "Supernatural" stars wanted to make it. There were no confirmations yet if franchise cancellation rumors were true. On the other hand, if the show would have higher ratings, the better the chance "Supernatural" would be extended.
