British actress Emilia Clarke who played Queen Daenerys Targaryen in the "Game of Thrones" will play the female lead role of the "Star Wars" Hans Solo sequel. She will be joined by Alden Ehrenreich and Donald Glover in the project.
Glover will play the part of Lando Carlissian and Ehrenreich will take the role of Han Solo. The news was reported by Strait Times as coming from Starwars.com site, the official website of the movie franchise.
The movie is still untitled but will be in line with the Star Wars series which announces the film title once the movie is finished. Filming will start in the early part of next year. It is to be produced by Lucas Film boss, Kathryn Kennedy.
The movie will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller who has successfully worked together in many movie projects. According to The Sun, the film is set for release to U.S. audiences on May 25, 2018.
In the meantime, the other spin-off movie "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story" will be released before the end of this year. Star Wars die-hard fans are expected to voraciously chomp on what these space saga movies are offering. Last year's space saga "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" made over $2 billion in revenues including what it made in 2016, a record for Walt Disney pictures.
The spin-off sequel "Rogue One" A Star wars Story" is not expected to break the $2 billion record but it is expected to compete for highest honors at the box office. Hopefully, with casting of Emilia Clark in the next Star Wars movie, box office will become a tradition for the Walt Disney franchise.
Her character in the movie remains undisclosed but what thing is sure, the queen of dragons will be soaring up there in that far away galaxy to meet Chewey and Han. Space movies are back in vogue to stay.
