"Freedrum is an exciting product for us because it blends the experience of drumming with the advantages of technology, such as being able to take it anywhere and customizing it the way you want," co-creator Philip Robertson said. "Freedrum gives our users the ability to practice and perform in areas and situations that have not been possible before."
Freedrum is a small piece of equipment that can be fitted to any drumsticks to make music. It is equipped with smart sensors and a gyroscope to determine the corresponding sound that you produce if you strike a real drum set-up. It also comes with a sensor that can be attached to your feet for simulating kick drums.
Freedrum together with an inclusive mobile app for your phone produces areas called 'hit zones' which is based on the placement of a standard drum set. It means that if you tapped the hit zone where the snare drum is usually placed, it will produce the sounds of the snares and so on.
