It is a day of mourning for the "Firefly" fans as Ron Glass passed away at the age of 71. "Firefly" actors mourn the death of the beloved actor.
The actors' representative confirmed the death of the "Firefly" actor due to respiratory failure. Variety reported that Glass was born on Evansville, Indiana, where he took drama and Literature at the University of Evansville.
His first shot to fame was in the 1970's where he appeared on episodes of "Sanford and Sons," "Hawaii Five-O" and "All in the Family". In 1982, Glass had an Emmy nomination for his role in the show "Barney Miller." In 2002, Glass became part of "Firefly" where he played the role of Darriel Book, a spiritual figure with a mysterious past.
The cast and the cult classic, took it to social media to show their sadness for the late actor's death. According to The Wrap, "Firefly" show runner Joss Whedon tweeted that Glass always had "grace, humor and enormous heart."
"He was, among so many other things, my Shepherd. Raise, appropriately, a glass. Rest, Ron," Whedon concluded. Nathan Fillon, who plays Capt. Richard Castle in the infamous cult series, also gave his good bye to the actor. He quoted the last scene he had with the actor, "Shepard, don't move. Won't go far. We love you, Ron Glass. Don't go far."
Morena Baccarin, who plays Inara in "Firefly" and Adria in "Stargate SG1", retweeted a post of Alan Tudyk. "Ron Glass was one of the greatest actors to work with. His laugh was beyond infectious and his generosity was ever present," the post states.
Talking about "Stargate", the movie is still indefinitely postponed. Jobs & Hire reported that the movie will be postponed because of story difficulties. "Firefly" actor Ron Glass will surely be missed not just by fans but also of the people he worked with.
