Supercell has finally broken its silence amidst the rumors surrounding the December 2016 update for "Clash of Clans." Supercell confirmed that the December patch will go live between December 19 to 23. However, rumors suggesting that Supercell is about to release "Clash of Clans 2" in 2017 remain unconfirmed.
Jobs & Hire recently reported that the December 2016 Update for "Clash of Clans" will roll out after the Product RED Event on December 6. The website All Clash confirmed this recent report announcing that Supercell has finally confirmed that the much anticipated December patch is going live. Fans can expect the update to be released between December 19 to December 23.
Except for the December 19-23 release date, details regarding the December 2016 update are still scarce. Although the website All Clash suggests that the leak regarding the new feature "Shipwreck" is almost certainly included in the upcoming patch, Supercell have not shared information regarding this matter.
With Supercell keeping information really close to their vest, speculations regarding the December 2016 Update continues to run wild. Fans are expecting that the rumors regarding the new Red Barbarian King, the Wizard-vs-Goblin Battle Feature, the sea-themed creatures, and the virtual reality (VR) feature would also be included in the December 2016 update.
However, the latest speculation coming up from the rumor hill is that Supercell is cooking up a sequel to the game "Clash of Clans" in order to keep up with the current number 1 mobile game, "Pokemon GO." According to Neurogadget, the new game is tentatively called "Clash of Clans 2."
The new game "Clash of Clans 2" gives credence that the VR feature is indeed in development. If "Clash of Clans" is to survive the onslaught of "Pokemon GO," Supercell has to develop features that will be able to keep pace with the augmented-reality game. If that is the case, then the rumored VR feature would be released not for the current "Clash of Clans" games, but for "Clash of Clans 2."
The upcoming December 2016 Update is one of the most anticipated upgrade in recent "Clash of Clans" history. Now that the Dec. 19th - 23rd release date has been confirmed, fans can't wait for the December patch to finally go live. And amidst numerous rumors surrounding the "Clash of Clans" and "Clash of Clans 2," Supercell choosing to remain silent seems to be a brilliant move. While this is frustrating to "Clash of Clans" fans, others following the rumor mills are keeping their fingers crossed that Supercell is finally serving something good.
