‘Mass Effect Andromeda’ News & Updates: New Characters And Tools Plus In-Depth Analysis On Alien Kett Race

Bioware has outdone itself in expanding the dimensions of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" by putting new characters, tools and even alien races to define the 'evolution' of RPG game. The developers are even generous enough to provide an analysis on how the new alien race such as the Ketts was crafted.

Who are the Ketts?

Joel MacMillan, the art director of "Mass Effect: Andromeda" reveals how the new alien race called Kett differ from other sapient creatures in the Milky Way galaxy. As per an exclusive review by the Game Informer, the Kett stood apart from the Asari, Turian, Salarian, Krogan, and Batarian as they sport asymmetrical-looking organic armor as compared to the sleek industrialized gear of the Milky Way beings.

According to MacMillan, this will accentuate the oddness of the Ketts as natives of the Andromeda universe. Unfortunately, their biological profile remains undiscovered until the game hits the retail stores in 2017.

Ryder & his twins

Just like the previous "Mass Effect" trilogy, players can choose between a male or female character. But the main difference is that in "Mass Effect: Andromeda" both male and female protagonists coexist as twin children of the legendary N7 operative named Alec Ryder.

Canon race crewmates

An article published by Games Radar introduces three crewmates representing the familiar alien races of the "Mass Effect" universe. Drack is a Krogan, Vetran is a female Turian, and Peebee is a bubbly and adventurous Asari accompanying Pathfinder Ryder in his/her quests. As mentioned in an article published by Jobs & Hire, the only reminiscent character from the previous trilogy is the virtual intelligence guide, Avina.

Pathfinder's new toys

Apart from the new characters and new races, Bioware introduces avid fans to a whole new way of playing this latest "Mass Effect" installment. Unlike in the previous trilogy, the player needs to craft his or her own tools. Weapon and armor upgrades depend on the kind of material one could gather in several of Andromeda galaxy's alien planets.

Another interesting tool that Ryder can use is his/her jetpack. Pushing the boundaries of sci-fi combat, the Pathfinder's jetpack allows players to conduct semi-aerial strikes similar to other free-roaming games.
