Jennifer Lawrence made a public apology through Facebook regarding her butt scratching story in a sacred Hawaii place. The "Passenger" actress said sorry on her post for offending some with her "curse story," particularly the Hawaiian people.
The 26-year-old actress first shared her encounter with the sacred rocks in Hawaii, on the Graham Norton Show during her guesting on December 2 (Friday). However, behind the giggles and laughter she got, many people felt disrespected and got mad with her story. Some even took Twitter to show their dismay of the actress' behavior on the show, as reported on The Telegraph.
Jennifer Lawrence kept mum on the issue for a week before finally releasing a statement. On her Facebook account she asked for an apology to those offended by her self-depreciating story. She added that while she thought she was just making fun of herself with her being "the curse," she understands that it wasn't funny for some.
Fans responded differently on her post with some supporting the actress whereas others still not accepting her apology. In fact according to some fans, the culture of Hawaii is important thus it shouldn't be made fun of.
Lawrence is starring "Passenger" with 37-year old actor Chris Pratt.
