Cisco Ramon's Vibe will be getting some company from Justice League of America (JLA). The Gypsy will be joining Team Flash this third season to help Cisco manage his powers as The Vibe.
While Gypsy is a new character on the hit TV series, she is an old friend to the Vibe in the serial comics. Both Gypsy and Vibe were created by Gerry Conway and Chuck Patton at a time when there was a clamor to make the JL younger. The two were introduced at the same time with Steel in JLA's second annual issue. In the comics, her alter ego is Cindy Reynolds.
The announcement was made during CW's Fan Feast Q&A after the midseason finale by none other than Vibe actor Carlos Valdez. ComicBook.com quoted Valdez saying, "There's gonna be a new visitor to our world named Gypsy. DC Comics fans will be familiar with Gypsy. She's gonna be coming into our world and Vibe will definitely get to learn some new skills as part of getting to know her."
In a report by CBR.com, Valdez said Vibe will "become more adept" with his powers with Gypsy's help. Gypsy's powers are on the mind and perception. She can make a person see things-whether it's trapping them, creating scenarios or hiding people and things from them. Since Vibe's powers are of the mind as well, Gypsy can provide him with insights with regard to control and management.
Gypsy's appearance is not new to the DC TV universe. The teams in "Arrow," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow" have also been beefed up with additions from the comic books, which include Vixen, The Martian Manhunter, and Steel.
The Nerdist reports that there is no word on the casting for this character yet but the announcement can be expected in January 2017. Meanwhile, more villains and characters are set to appear in the show as the cast teased recently.
