The a capella group known as Pentatonix is on its way to becoming one of the most popular groups that bring cheer to everyone this Christmas. Billboard reported that more than half a million U.S. consumers have bought the group's album, "A Pentatonix Christmas."
Pentatonix's brand new album, "A Pentatonix Christmas" is the group's second album meant for Christmas. Pentatonix became a recognized a cappella group in 2011 and has since then made more than 2.8 million album sales as a group, according to The Pointer.
The latest Billboard 200 chart, which shows the movement of albums recently released in the U.S., shows that "A Pentatonix Christmas" moved to the Nov. 3 position after selling 503,000 albums. Pentatonix has been excited about the success of their album and thanked fans for their support.
"A Pentatonix Christmas" is expected to rake more sales as the day that everyone is waiting for draws nearer. Releasing a successful seasonal title is not something new for Pentatonix. In 2014, the a cappella group sold 1.9 million of its first seasonal album called "That's Christmas to Me."
With the release of "A Pentatonix Christmas," the ranking of "That's Christmas to Me" dropped to No. 7 going No. 8 on the Billboard 200 chart. Of the top 100 albums in the chart, 33 of them are all Christmas albums. Jobs & Hire previously reported that Adele and Justin Bieber reigned in the 2016 year-end charts.
"A Pentatonix Christmas" is one of the twelve albums that sold 500,000 in 2016. Could it mean that the group has a chance to become one of the most popular albums of the season, if not of the year? Share your thoughts in the comments section below.
