Selena Gomez went on a three-month hiatus to focus on her health, and she appears to be better than ever when she resurfaced at the 2016 American Music Awards last month. Now, it looks like the former Disney star has gotten back to work as she was spotted in a recording studio, and this triggered rumors that a new album might be on its way.
According to E! Online, songwriter Justin Tranter took to Instagram on Friday, Dec. 16 which shows the singer-actress putting on eyeliner in a music studio. The photo was simply captioned, “Music and love.”
The 23-year-old’s fans immediately commented on the post, saying that they couldn’t wait for Selena Gomez’s next album. Nick Jonas also expressed his enthusiasm over the songstress’ return by posting a praise emoji as a comment on Tranter’s post.
It is unclear whether the singer is working on a new song or an entirely new album, but Hollywoodlife speculates that a full album could be in the works. Gomez’s last album, “Revival,” was released in 2015, and it earned the number one spot on Billboard 200 on the first week of its release. It is expected that the “Same Old Love” hitmaker’s new album will be released in 2017.
Neither Gomez nor her reps have said anything about a new project. But according to Hollywoodlife, the singer’s graphic artist, Ryan Butler, took to Twitter last Thursday and gave a clue as to when Selena Gomez will be returning to the music scene.
The media outlet reports that a fan took to the micro-blogging site to ask others if they wanted more music from the “I Want You to Know” singer. Butler joined the thread and announced that Selenators will get new music “soon” from Gomez.
