"Crank That" Rapper Soulja Boy was arrested By Los Angeles Department on Thursday for violating probation on guns. He was arrested at his home in Hollywood Hills. Currently, his address is at 3200 block of Dos Palos drive. He is leaving there for only a few months.
Soulja Boy, or DeAndre Cortez Way in real life, was arrested at around seven in the morning, the spokesperson of the Los Angeles Police Department said. A gun was found in his possession. Since he is on probation, he is not authorized to own or carry a gun.
LA Times reported that it was unclear why police have inspected Soulja Boy's residence. Meanwhile, a resident in the village who does not like to be identified says that he fears for the security of his family. He thinks having a gun by an unauthorized person can endanger the entire neighborhood.
His probation is the result of his arrest two years ago when a loaded firearm was seen in his vehicle. He was in the passenger seat that time when the authorities asked the driver to pull-over. When the police inspected the car, they found hidden weapons. The probation was scheduled to finish this month.
This was not the first time the rapper has dragged himself into trouble. It can be recalled that in 2011 a report from ABC 7 confirmed Soulja Boy's arrest because of drug and ammunition issues. In 2013, Jobs & Hire reported that the rapper was sent out off a plane after a verbal confrontation with flight attendants.
Soulja Boy became popular after the release of song "Soulja Boy Tell'em - Crank That." The song became an inspiration for a dance step. The rapper was nominated for the 2008 Grammy Award. Today he stars in "Love and Hip Hop Hollywood,"' a reality drama that focuses on the lives of recording artists, rappers, and their loved ones.
This was not the first time the young rapper has involved in serious misconduct. In 2013, Jobs & Hire reported that he was thrown out of American Airlines after inciting a fight with its flight attendants.
