According to food career expert Barbara Lang (via Inside Jobs), there are many opportunities out there for people who love food.
“The wonderful thing about the food industry is there are so many avenues you can explore to find the fit that brings you the most value and fulfillment,” said Lang.

Professional taster
A professional taster tries out the latest creations of various food companies. Though you get to sample a lot of delicious food, you should also be prepared to taste another fare that may not taste so good. Professional tasters typically make $17,000 to $33,000 annually.
Ice cream shop manager
If you love ice cream, then this could be a good fit for you. With lots of artisanal and independent shops opening across the country and abroad, having a manager with retail experience, people skills, and love of food will be very much in demand. Ice cream shop managers can make anywhere from $27,000 to $30,000 a year.
Barista
Coffee enthusiasts will love this job as you get to mix different coffee recipes and interact with people at the same time. Baristas earn $16,000 to $25,000 annually.
Cake decorator
