The famous magazine for beauty pageants has announced its picks for the top 16, and fans aren't too happy with the non-variety of Missosology's predictions.
Missosology has always been on-point about their predictions for beauty pageants, and now that the coronation night of Miss Universe 2013 is a week away, the magazine released its list of who they think will land in the top 16. Though the beauties listed in the prediction announcement sure have the right qualities to win, the absence of Asian and African candidates sparked a controversy, with fans calling the magazine "racist."
Missosology ranked Miss Venezuela, Miss Puerto Rico, and Miss Brazil as the top 3, banking on these beauties on having the most chances of winning the crown. Next listed were Miss Great Britain, Miss Turkey, Miss Romania, Miss Panama, Miss Greece, Miss Nicaragua, Miss Italy, Miss Lebanon, Miss Sweden, Miss Estonia, and Miss Serbia. Rounding up the top 16 predictions list are Miss Mauritius, and Miss Dominican Republic.
Fans always count on and wait for the Miss Universe top 16 predictions, and this year, Missosology completely disregarded fan favorites and strong contenders as narrated by publicity. One strong delegate, USA's Erin Brady, was snubbed out of the list, as well as Olivia Wells, Australia's bet for the pageant. Asian beauty Ariella Arida of the Philippines was also not in the list, causing stress to a lot of Miss Universe 2013 followers from all across the globe.
"No ASIANS...call me bitter! but this is RACIST! the fake enhanced beauties under the knife leads this hotpicks" says one Missosology reader in the magazine's Facebook page.
"Racist prediction! No Asian. No dark skin. Sorry. Not valid," says another reader, Indah Larasati Soeroso.
Some were flat out angry and decided to poke fingers on the people running Missosology and claim that the magazine's Miss Universe 2013 top 16 predictions is "a joke."
"I dunno who your analysts are to even have the confidence to post your prediction list and call yourselves beauty experts lol. Missosology admins are just a bunch of ordinary pips like us who look at beauty no different from ordinary humans, too, like us. So who cares now with your prediction? Your choices are weird [sic]" writes Jeremy Bascos on the same Facebook page.
The coronation night for this year's most sought-after beauty pageant will happen on November 9 in Moscow's Crocus City Hall.
