Explosions caused by self-made bombs killed one person and injured eight more in Shanxi, a north China province on Wednesday.
According to the police, eight explosions struck the front of the Shanxi Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of Chine office building in the provincial capital of Taiyuan at 7:40 am.
"An Explosive Ordnance Disposal team was dispatched to the scene while no other explosive was discovered," Xinhua news agency reported. "The presence of steel beads and circuit boards found scattered at the scene by an initial investigation indicate the incident was caused by self-made bombs."
Further investigation into the case is under way.
Last week, Chinese government blame Islamists for an attack when a car was ploughed through bystanders on the edge of Tiananmen Square burst into flames killing three people in the car and two bystanders.
