After last week's Revolution season 2 episode 10, which marked the return of the series following its mid-season hiatus, we witnessed how Monroe (David Lyons) somehow channeled his old "Gen. Monroe" self after reuniting with his son Conner (Mat Vairo). After all, Conner is now a petty tyrant of his own crew. Monroe even dropped the bomb when he told his son, "You should be leading a bigger army, and I can show you how." and we must admit the show is getting more interesting as Monroe somehow hints a major transition for his character in the story. Meanwhile, Aaron (Zack Orth) may have found another alliance when he met Grace Beaumont, Rachel's former research partner. Then, there's this random "WTF" expression on Gene's (Stephen Collins) face when Charlie (Tracy Spiridakos) dispatched two Patriots. It seems that things are going to take a different shift when Monroe and his son meets yet again. Watch Revolution season 2 episode 11 stream using the free link found at the bottom.
In a recent interview for Zap2It, actor David Lyons, who is only 38 in real life, dished about his character, the returning episode and what lies ahead for the entire cast of characters in the series. "I think what you're starting to see in Monroe is more aspects of his former humanity and his former self, intertwined with that megalomaniacal aspect of his nature," he said. "At the moment he's like this weird cross-pollination of two different creatures -- one that's trying to do the right thing but has this propensity to turn his back on people and go down that selfish road." He then quipped, ""I think Monroe's shift has been not so subtle, from an uber-possessive and single-minded character to someone who's a little bit more lost in his environment and is still searching to find his little scrap of land or little piece of purpose for his life. His son represents that, very much so. In fact, he represents the only facet of purpose that Monroe has. We learn at the end of the first episode that perhaps there's a little bit more to that."
