The NBA got some bad feedback when they intensified the use of sleeved jersey during the series of games on Christmas Day last year, but the negative comments won't stop the league from using the special-designed uniform.
The infamous sleeved jersey will also be used in the upcoming 2014 All-Star Game in New Orleans. The sleeved jersey leaked online on Thursday before Adidas and the NBA officially unveiled the ASG uniform.
Both Eastern Conference and Western Conference jerseys feature a large Fleur-de-lis logo that is attributed to this year's host of the annual mid-season festivities.
The logos on both jersey sports the same "Big Logo" format that were used on the Christmas Day game uniforms of the Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Lakers, Brooklyn Nets, New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs, Houston Rockets, Golden State Warriors, and the Los Angeles Clippers.
The East All-Star's jersey is primarily blue that was accented with green hints on the collar along with the front logo and lettering at the back of the uniform, where the name of the player and a small logo of their respective teams appear. The West All-Star's jersey features the same design, but primary color is red with blue hints as accents.
"Each year, we look forward to developing a unique on-court look for the players that pays homage to the host city and adds to the excitement of this highly anticipated game," Adidas head of global basketball sports marketing Chris Grancio said via ESPN. "This year's All-Star collection reflects New Orleans' festive musical history while also providing the premium performance elements that NBA athletes have grown accustomed to."
The use of the sleeved jersey for the highly-anticipated All-Star Game 2014 in New Orleans is expected to draw raves around the league -- from players and their fans.
When the same-styled jersey was used, NBA fans expressed disgust about it online through the popular social networking websites, while players and team owners, including Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, who is one of the most vocal critics of the sleeved jersey.
Heat superstar LeBron James, whose name was etched on the leaked jersey, also previously expressed concern about the design of the jersey, saying that the sleeves could affect a player's shooting stroke.
"I can't have my shooters out there worrying about some sleeves and not shooting the ball." James previously said when asked about using the jersey.
