Samsung Galaxy S5 news updates stirred controversy among fans after it was announced that the Korean tech company will be releasing two versions of the upcoming flagship smart phone.
According to rumors however, the two versions of the Samsung Galaxy S5 are rumored to be made in plastic, a contrast to earlier speculation that the one of the phones will be in aluminum.
Pocket-lint reported earlier that one of Samsung Galaxy S5's versions will be called "Prime" and the other will be named "Standard." The names were based on the calls made by Ming-Chi Kuo, a trusted tech analyst.
It is presumed that the two-type strategy is a way for Samsung to compete with Apple's iPhone 5S and 5C in 2013. According to Kuo, both of Samsung Galaxy S5's versions will feature a 5.2 inch display and varying resolutions and pixel densities.
Samsung Galaxy S5 "Prime" will boast 32-bit octa-core Samsung Exynos 5430 processor while the "Standard" sport the 32-bit quad-core Snapdragon 800.
There is also a high possibility that Samsung's flagship smartphones will feature a fingerprint scanner but the analyst did not specify as to which part of the device it will be found. Other Samsung Galaxy S5 rumors state that the Korean company still hasn't reached a final decision regarding the placement of the security scanner technology, whether it will placed under its display or set as an external scanner.
Here's a list of Samsung Galaxy S5 specifications that the analyst mentioned:
- 2,850 mAh battery
- plastic make for its body
- fingerprint scanning security
- 3D gestures
- 16MP rear camera
- 2MP front camera
- RAM options of 3GB and 2GB
- display options at 5.2 inch, 2560 x 1440 - 565 ppi and 1920 x 1080 - 423 ppi
Samsung is reportedly not yet ready to add the iris scanning feature to its upcoming Galaxy S5, said NDTV Gadgets.
As for the Samsung Galaxy S5 international release, the Korean tech giant confirmed that phones will be available in the market around March or early April, along with the second generation of the Galaxy Gear.
