Before he became the Hollywood heartthrob that he is now, Moore shared that he moved to Los Angeles and spent every single penny for acting lessons despite having to sleep on a friend's couch for several months. Good thing his efforts paid off when he got the role for daytime soap 'The Young and The Restless.'
Going back to Shemar Moore's wife, or perhaps the lack of it, the hunky actor has actually been very vocal of his pursuit for the right one. In fact, whenever asked if he is dating someone, he would almost always never deny it.
To trace his dating records in his attempt to tie the knot with Mrs. Shemar Moore, we have searched high and low for the names of the women, who almost landed the much-coveted "Shemar Moore's wife" title.
According to Whosdatedwho, Moore's first established relationship was with Bobbie Philips in 1993. But after a year of young romance, the then-starting actor made headlines when it was revealed that he was already found someone better and that someone was no other than Toni Braxton.
In an interview with BET, Moore dished about his romance with Braxton saying, [Toni Braxton] was my first Hollywood relationship. I was a baby, I did not know s***. I had just graduated from college, I had no money and I was on Young and the Restless. She called my agent when she was shooting a video in Miami, and it just went from there. I was like the little kid who found the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. It was a wild ride with Toni. She would never sing for me, though. That always bothered me."
However, his romance with Braxton only lasted a year, but it didn't take long for him to find a new lady in his life. In 997, he was rumored to be in a relationship with actress Halle Berry, but it was only after they broke up in 1998 when they admitted that the rumors were real.
"She was the first woman to really knock my socks off. I fell hard for Halle," he said in a recent interview. "A lot of people now know we dated, but we had to keep it hush-hush at the time because she was fresh off her divorce from David Justice. I'm still grateful for that relationship. I was smitten not just because of who she was, but because we were so similar in so many ways. She was biracial, she was kind of going through the same things I was in Hollywood. Toni was a fun ride, but Halle was a necessary experience. It made me much stronger as a man, and knowing the caliber of woman I want in the future."
After which, Shemar Moore has exclusively dated a lot of equally sexy women: Claudia Jordan in 2000, Ashley Scott on 2002 to 2003, Kimberly Elise from 2004 to 2005, Victoria Rowell in 2006, Gabrielle Richens in late 2006, and Lauriane Gilleron in 2007. But the list goes on and the other ladies have not been publicly identified yet.
While many would think that the actor isn't at all taking any of this seriously, Shemar Moore has admitted that no one has really given him the reason to give up his bachelor title, start his own family, and sire kids of his own.
"It's no accident that I'm not married and don't have kids yet," the actor told BET. "Because despite what I've achieved in my career, I'm always wondering when somebody's gonna tap me on the shoulder and say, "OK, the gig is up." I don't mind being uncomfortable. In fact, I like being uncomfortable, picking up and moving, and all that. But, it's not exactly the best scenario for a family. Of course, I want to be able to share that with somebody one day. When I do tie the knot, it will be one time, for good."
Meanwhile, in his interview with Essence, the hunky actor who admitted that he is dying to meet someone he could call as "Shemar Moore's wife" said, "I'm truly excited to be a husband and a father one day soon. I know I have it in me. As great as I may think things are for me now, I know that my best is gonna come when I'm a husband and a father and continuing to follow my dreams. My grandma says don't rush it or force it, and the right woman is gonna show up when I least expect it. So, I'm waiting on her."
