Anderson Silva Broken Leg Injury Update: “The Spider” Back In The Gym Without Crutches [Photo]

Anderson Silva is showing strong signs in his recovery from the devastating leg injury he sustained during his rematch with Chris Weidman at UFC 168 in December.

A month after sustaining the gruesome broken leg injury, Silva is now back in the gym as part of his rehabilitation, showing signs that it will not take long before his fans see him inside the Octagon again.

FrontRowBrian posted a photo of Silva on his Instagram account. The photo shows Silva standing on his feet without crutches. The image was captioned: "Anderson Silva, back in the gym already, on his feet."

Previous reports indicated that there is a good chance Silva will be back a year after sustaining the injury. UFC president Dana White recently said that the MMA legend could be back inside the Octagon by the end of the year barring any major setback.

"He'll be walking before the end of the month without crutches, he'll be training in less than six months and he'll fight before the end of this year. So if you blow your ACL out, you're out for a year and three months. You break your leg in half; you're back before the end of the year," White said during an interview at The Arsenio Hall talk show. But while Silva is expecting a comeback before the end of 2014, UFC analyst Joe Rogan expressed doubt about the possibility of seeing the Brazilian legend again inside the Octagon this year. Rogan expressed concern over the condition of the 38-year-old Brazilian, saying that Silva's leg could break again so he needs to make sure that his leg is fully healed and as strong as before considering fighting again. "Dana is a promoter," Rogan stressed. "He wants him to fight by the end of the year, and Anderson wants to fight too, but there's real danger of that thing breaking again." Once he recovers, Silva is looking forward to having a rematch with Chris Weidman, but White previously reiterated that the UFC legend should prove his worth first before having another title shot. Aside from the rematch with Weidman, Silva is also hoping that his boxing match with Roy Jones Jr. will finally be realized, along with the super fight with fellow UFC great Georges St-Pierre.
