The popular video game series Assassin's Creed will make headlines again later this year as reports indicated that gamers should expect release in October.
And as part of their treat to gamers who have been following the Assassin's Creed franchise over the past several years, reports indicated that the Assassin's Creed 5 will be released in two different versions.
Kotaku reported that Ubisoft will release AC5 Unity and Comet. The edition code-named Unity will reportedly be for next-gen consoles PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, while the other one, code-named Comet, will be released for Xbox 360 and PS3.
One of the two versions will also reportedly be available on PC, but it is still unknown at this point whether or not the game will be released on Wii U.
Rumors indicated, though, that there could be a third unannounced title, creating speculations that Ubisoft is planning to release a different version for Wii U and mobile platforms.
"Unity will be for the current-gen consoles-Xbox One and PS4-while a second game, possibly called or code-named Comet, will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3. Presumably one or both versions will also be on PC. Sorry, Nintendo fans: I haven't yet heard anything about Wii U," Kotaku insider Jason Schreier said.
And as for the settings, Ubisoft executive Jade Raymond previously said that the game will take place in her favorite historical era, but gave no further details about it.
Previous reports indicated that the next setting of the game would either be Japan or Russia, but recently leaked image of the Assassin's Creed 5 Unity showed the new assassin, named Arno, roaming around Paris.
According to reports, the new assassin, which was seen roaming near Notre Dame, Seine River, and other Parisian landmarks will play a big role in the French revolution, particularly the fall of King Louis XVI.
"The screenshots released show us the new assassin in pictures with Notre Dame and the Seine River, indicating that at least one location will be Paris, and we will indeed be playing a key role in the French Revolution, an event resulting in the fall of King Louis XVI," the Inquisitr noted.
