In another shocking news about celebrity deaths, 'Seinfeld' star Wayne Knight was killed off in an elaborate death hoax.
According to the latest viral celebrity death hoax, Wayne Knight died in a tractor-trailer accident Sunday night near the Pennsylvania-New York state border. New York Daily News reported that a hoax site named "TMZ Today"- appearing very similar to TMZ - reported that "police have identified the deceased as the lovable 'Newman,'" adding that "McKean County Coroner Jeff Levin said Knight died of burnt force trauma at the scene."
Because the alarming news led to an online buzz among netizens, Wayne Knight took it to Twitter to dispel the hoax claiming his own death.

On a positive note, Wayne Knight confirmed that there was indeed a real crash at the site of the accident, the hoax site reported about. He tweeted: However, someone did die recently in a crash at that site. The Buffalo (New York) News reported that Lindsay M. Schmit, 26, was killed Thursday when the Chevrolet Malibu she was traveling in crossed the center line on Route 446 and was struck by a tractor-trailer. Schmit's fiancé, Christopher Johnston, and her 2-year-old son, Carter Pontius, were also in the car and critically injured."
The actor-comedian added: "Regrets to my friends and family who were shocked this morning and the family of the woman who actually died in my 'supposed' accident."
