'Scandal' Lead Star Columbus Short Detained, To Face Four Years in Prison After Seriously Injuring A Man?

'Scandal' lead star Columbus Short was detained Wednesday after seriously injuring a man. He is to face up to four years imprisonment if convicted, The Sun Times reported March 26.

The 'Scandal' lead actor was arrested on a felony charge after he seriously injured a man during an altercation at a restaurant earlier this month.

According to several reports, Columbus Short was detained by police in Claremont through a warrant issued in the case, alleging that he committed battery, leading to serious bodily harm.

Short got involved in an altercation with a man at a West Los Angeles restaurant last March 15. Reports stated that the 'Scandal' actor hit the man and knocked him out.

Details about the serious altercation were not released by Los Angeles police and prosecutors.

However, the Los Angeles Times reported that the 31-year-old actor was released on $50,000 bail soon after his arrest.

Police records show that Columbus Short have repeatedly landed in jail for drunk-driving, with his most recent back in July 2008.

Additionally, the 'Scandal' lead was also arrested in July 19, 2010 for battery and for failing to appear on the court case.

Just last month, Short was arrested and charged for battery on a former spouse at his former Woodland Hills home, the Los Angeles Times reported.

A one-time choreographer for Britney Spears, Columbus Short has established a career as a TV actor.

He plays one of Olivia Pope's (Kerry Washington) crisis management expert, Harrison Wright, on the hit ABC show, Scandal.

If proven guilty for this new case, Columbus Short could spend four years in prison. The date for his initial court appearance is yet to be released.
