The First Niagara Bank branch nestled at 322 Main St., West Haven was robbed by a New York Yankees capped man, believed to be in his early to mid-20s.
According to New Haven Register, a white man robbed the First Niagara Bank in West Haven Thursday mid-afternoon.
Police said the lone suspect was wearing "a light colored hoodie, dark pants and New York Yankees baseball cap."
Authorities said the suspect was clean shaven and was about 5 feet and seven inches tall, with a medium build, NBC Connecticut reported.
He walked into the bank at around 2:15 p.m. and presented to a teller a note that demands for money.
It is not clear yet what the First Niagara Bank robbery suspect used to threaten the teller and the other employees and customers present during the time of the crime.
Police Lt. Robert Proto said that no one was injured in the incident and that an unspecified amount of money was taken by the lone suspect.
Proto added that K-9 officer Scott Bloom and Ike, the department's new police dog managed to track the scent of the suspect from the bank to the corner of Union Avenue and Center Street, but the track ended there.
The suspect of the First Niagara Bank robbery was recorded by bank security cameras. Photographs of the suspect was released Thursday evening.
All indications imply that the suspect acted alone in the robbery, Proto said.
