Conan O'Brien became the first one to review "Watch Dogs" that is scheduled to be released on Tuesday, May 27, for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and PC.
O'Brien played the game during the "Clueless Gamer" segment of his show wherein he made fun of the fictional city of Chicago and the game's main character, Aiden Pearce.
During the review, O'Brien poked fun of Pearce's jacket, saying: "This is what a jacket looks like in the near future. There's a leather band aid that holds it together."
O'Brien also took a swipe at how the game focuses on the idea of hacking saying: "The action [in past video games] used to be 'slay the dragon.' Now it's, 'Let's go into a basement and play with computers."
But as expected, the comedian, who previously admitted that he is receiving payment from publishers to review their games, had a positive feedback for the anticipated video game.
"It'll blow your mind. Watch Dogs. Coming out May 27. If you're a cool dude, you'll love it. If you're a hacker who likes to stay in a basement and play around with people's adjustable rate mortgage, you'll really love it," O'Brien said.
During the review, O'Brien said that using the city of Chicago was not a good idea, but Watch Dogs creative director Jonathan Morin has already expected questions about it.
In a recent interview with GamerHub, Morin discussed why they picked Chicago for Watch Dogs.
"Chicago is a really important choice for us," Morin said via Kansas City Star. "Watch Dogs is talking about an important matter and we wanted to take a real city, use its real name and also pick a place that would be very credible for embracing the concept of a smart city. Chicago is known for its forward thinkers. They push innovations to solve complex problems."
Criticisms and questions about the game are not affecting gamers' acceptance for Watch Dogs as reports indicated that the game is breaking its pre-sale records.
"GameStop, the retailer experiencing the extreme excitement generated by Watch Dogs, has officially stated that the game is breaking its pre-sale records," Guardian TV reported.
GameStop also announced that they are also enjoying successful sales, which will force to open their stores on Monday night to give gamers enough time to pick up their copy of the game.
