After announcing their reunion last year and releasing one new single, it seems like the girl group is breaking up again. This is after reports that earlier this month they're has been a brawl and not a catfight between the members, resulting the Danity Kane to break up for good.
The reports said that Aubrey O' Day and Shannon Bex were in middle of a private recording session when Dawn Richard came into the studio and saw them. Dawn Richard punched Aubrey O'Day in the back of the head. In addition to the recording without Dawn Richard, Aubrey O'Day and Shannon Bex were also discussing the group's businesses without Dawn Richard.
The group confirmed the news of the breakup of Danity Kane on Twitter Friday Aug 8. Aubrey O'Day and Shannon Bex statements were included on TwitDoc.post, which gave the reason for the Danity Kane's break up.
As per Aubrey O'Day, Dawn Richard was not physically engaged or threatened prior to the attack on her. This is the same information she provided with the police. To quote "This is the same information I provided to the police, and witnesses also corroborated this account of the incident. I cannot condone or excuse any form of physical violence, particularly at the hands of someone I considered family. Disagreements happen. But a war of words and ideas should never end in physical aggression."
Aubrey O'Day claims that the assault was the final straw for the breakup of the Danity Kane.
Shannon Bex also speaks out. "I did not witness a shouting match, a catfight or a brawl. I witnessed a single direct punch," she writes on the group's official site.
Aubrey O'Day and Shannon Bex joint a statement concerning the breakup: "We know it must be devastating for our fans to have spent the last twelve months supporting our every move, and for that we cannot apologize enough for the Danity Kane's break up."
