The rivalry between Maria Sharapova and Eugenie Bouchard could become more intense in the coming years, more so after a clip of the Canadian star's Mexican gate-away trip with Grigor Dimitrov surfaced this week.

Bouchard, who has been labeled by most tennis followers as the next Sharapova due to her good looks and intensity on the court, has suddenly become the target of the Russian fans' ire after the 'leaked video' exposed what they believed Genie's girly crush on Sharapova's boyfriend.

Bouchard and Dimitrov, two of the fast-rising stars in the sport, spent a one-day escapade in Acapulco as they hovered around the area aboard a helicopter, played mini tennis in the middle of the sea and then took a plunge into the Mexican sea, as part of their promotions of the Abierto Mexicano TELCEL tourney.

Dimitrov, who also reached his first Grand Slam semis appearance at the Wimbledon Open this year, did not hide any word to describe how much he enjoyed the trip with Bouchard. And as expected, tennis fans jumped on the Bulgarian's comments right away and made a conclusion that there's something special happened between him and the Canadian tennis star.

"This is definitely the best experience I've ever had on tour.  I was happy to be able to do something like this. It is pretty special and we definitely have something to talk about in the future. It was nice to get to do this in such good weather, great city. It was very exciting!"

Although the gossip involving Bouchard and Dimitrov never took off, the latest video on Tennis Tonic certainly drove a lot of Sharapova fans' crazy. Sharapova and Dimitrov have been dating for almost two years now, and there are reports that the couple could tie the knot soon.

While the video could be interpreted by some differently (perhaps she just felt unease on how Dimitrov strapped himself with the safety belt), this things is what women's tennis really needs.

As the 30-year old Serena Williams continues to stay dominant into his 30s, the rivalry between two of the most beautiful players in the tour would add more flare and an enticing storyline for women's tennis next year.

If there's one perfect billing everytime Bouchard and Sharapova face each other on the court, then it should be the battle for Grigor's love: Genie vs. Maria. Just kidding!
