NBC's "Blacklist" is making its way to NBC with Season 3. The James Spader starrer has already given a more action-packed season during its sophomore run, so fans are excited to know what it has to offer this fall. Below are three things fans should know ahead of the show's imminent premiere.
1. Red and Liz still on the loose
"Blacklist" Season 2 ended with the ultimate game-changer when James Spader's Red and Megan Boone's Liz were named wanted fugitives by the FBI. Following this, many show fans wondered whether the two will simply surrender and try to talk their way out of whatever punishment it is they are bound to get. However, Zap2It has learned that the NBC series' popular duo will still remain on the wrong side of the law when Season 3 airs. Despite being wanted blacklisters, Red and Liz would still try to save the world from harm, and they plan to do this by going undercover as police officers.
Ironically, now that the tales have been turned, Red and Liz will find themselves getting assistance from the people they were previously after. In the premiere episode, the official synopsis revealed that Red will make contact with "The Troll Farmer," a blacklister, so he and Liz could flee the city.
2. Boone teases love between Red and Liz
"Blacklist" Season 3 will reportedly uncover the real score between Red and Liz's relationship. But before fans could even speculate that this is a romantic kind of love, actress Megan Boone already set the record straight when she said that the kind of love her character shares with Red is a "confusing kind," as per iDigital Times.
Boone also clarified that though she thinks that Red loves Liz, she believes that there are no romantic feelings involved. "I don't necessarily think it's a romantic love story between Liz and Reddington, even though there are people out there that really feel that's what they want," she explained.
3. The return of Tom Keen
While Liz's relationship with Red is anything but romantic, she is bound to feel the deep affection of husband Tom Keen, who is played by Ryan Eggold. The previous seasons by far exposed the supposed to be real intention of Keen when he married Elizabeth. However, as what viewers have seen Tom's real feelings when he told Jolene Parker: "I can't do this because I love my wife."
With Tom's return in "Blacklist" Season 3, many are looking forward to his interaction with Liz. Movie Pilot noted that Boone feels Liz still has strong feelings for Tom, so it would be interesting to see Tom tagging along Liz and Red's journey although it's obvious that the latter won't be to pleased when the husband and wife get reunited.
Don't miss the premiere episode of "Blacklist" Season 3. Tune in on NBC when the show drops its pilot episode on Oct. 1.
