Ronda Rousey is UFC's biggest star today. The fighting league knows that fact very wel,l and they are very much willing to capitalize on her popularity.
As reported by Fan Sided, Rousey, the current women's bantamweight champion, has become the face of the franchise, having won many sold-out matches. Her latest upcoming fight in November was supposed to be scheduled on January of next year.
However, UFC pushed it earlier in a bid to garner the largest crowd in its history, and, fortunately, it worked as the event will house a crowd of 70,000.
Rousey will face former pro-boxer Holly Holm at the upcoming UFC 193. Holly, a former world-class pugilist from New Mexico, has been reported to be training with disgraced UFC fighter Jon Jones.
Jones, a former UFC light heavyweight champion has been tangled on a handful of controversies like a hit-and-run crash that injured a pregnant woman and was arrested while under the influence. As a result, he was stripped off of his title and was suspended by the UFC.
According to the New York Post, Holm was one of the few who reached out to the former champion and asked for his help. She was quoted as saying "He's one of those that doesn't want to impose, but he definitely wants to be helpful. One thing about Jon is he's been able to put all of this together in an awesome fighting style that's been unbeatable."
The former boxer aims to give Rousey her first loss.
According to Entertainment, Rousey has become such a household name that she already did the Hollywood crossover. Her acting credits include "The Expendables 3." "Furious 7" and "Entourage."
And to further hype things up, UFC recently released a video about Rousey that aims to promote her upcoming fight ,as well as give fans a look at the struggles she faced before.
