TAG Heuer Connected is finally here, and according to many tech critics, it's a queue for the real smartwatch war. There are many smartwatches out there manufactured by different tech giants, but it seems that the Apple Watch found its way to stand up.
Tech critics believe that TAG Heuer Connected is going to change the course of the competition. Unveiled on Monday, here are the facts that you need to know about the newest luxury smartwatch to rival the Cupertino-based giant's wrist wearable.
1. What's beneath the TAG Heuer Connected?
The physical appearance of a gadget, especially if it's a wearable, should be taken into account. However, what's important is under the hood.
Tag Heuer Connected is powered by Google's Android Wear operating system and Intel Processor, according to Business Insider. The smartwatch can reportedly connect to both Android and iPhones via Bluetooth.
2. TAG Heuer Connected Design
The smartwatch is reportedly modeled very closely with TAG Carrera. This watch was launched in 1963, and was endorsed by famous Hollywood actors like Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio on the latter.
The case is made of light titanium with a rubber strap that comes in different colors, and just like the other premium watches, it has TAG logos on the crown, with a clasp on the band. It has a diameter of 46.2 millimeters and a 12.8-millimeter width, Forbes reported.
The size is made for men, but the Swiss watchmaker is reportedly working on a design for women.
3. TAG Heuer Connected Features
The wide display of TAG Heuer's new smartwatch makes the watch's easy to read. The user will also have the option to choose what to display — a timer, alarm and stopwatch — and as per The New York Times, it's the first smartwatch that doesn't go into sleep mode every time you don't move your hands around.
It is reportedly waterproof and does all the basic function of a smartwatch, like emails, texts messages, calls, maps, search and more. Downloading and storing of music is also possible with its 4GB storage.
The battery could last for a day, depending on how TAG Heuer Connected is being used.
4. TAG Heuer Connected Trade-in Opportunity
Customers who will be purchasing this latest smartwatch will be given the chance to have it exchanged for a mechanical version of TAG Carrera especially made for TAG Heuer Connected owners after two years, and by paying another $1,500.
5. TAG Heuer Connected Availability
The smartwatch is reportedly available in 20 stores in the United States. It will be released in Japan next week and Europe following that.
