E-mail replies are a great analytics for how you will compete the job assigned you. The start-up called Gigwalk hires temporary workers on-the-spot for different businesses.
Gigwalk was developed by three former Yahoo! employees. They developed mathematical formulae that can predict employee behavior and reduce the need to interview employees. 300,000 workers are enrolled in their mobile app, to take nearby temp jobs from taking photos for directories to iPhone software testing for developers.
The mobile app tracks how fast the employee is able to accomplish the job provided at that location through its GPS tracking feature. After doing multiple jobs, the program finds the peak point at which the worker is most efficient, and assigns them similar jobs to create the best experience for employers.
In addition to measuring efficiency, Gigwalk also measure promptness and thoroughness through different jobs given to the temp.
Workers who receive jobs from the iPhone app generally get $12 to $15 per hour and receive their payments through PayPal, according to Gigwalk's CEO Bob Bahramipour.
Gigwalk keeps 30 percent to 40 percent of the payment per job, allowing for workers to receive at least minimum wage on the work that they earn. The company is not yet profitable, but their analytics programs help clients keep track of work done by other hires.
The Gigwalk app is available through only through iPhone, but an Android version will come very soon.
