Rev. Al Shrapton is on fire after his controversial reaction on the death of Australian athlete and student Chris Lane earlier this week in Oklahoma. According to the priest-activist, there is nothing to protest about since the murder was a random criminal act and it was not racial.

Chris Lane, a 22-year old Australian student and star baseball player were shot by suspects James Edwards, 15, Chancey Luna, 16, and Michael Jones, 17 because they "were bored." Edwards and Luna are charged with first degree murder and might face life imprisonment if convicted of the crime. Jones, on the other hand, is being held on allegations being an accessory to the crime.

Al Shrapton, who is a known protester of such killings, said in his MSNBC show, "I protest when I'm called in and when there's an injustice,"

"The three were arrested, there was nothing to protest, the system worked there. And racial? Not only did the police not say it was racial, one of the three were white.", Shrapton added.

The statement was done as an answer to Donald Trump's tweet, asking, "Why isn't Al Shrapton protesting this?" Trump's question for Al Sharpton was preceded with a tweet addressed to the media, saying, "Why isn't mainstream media all over this like the Trayvon Martin story? Will there be justice for Chris Lane?"

Donald Trump is not the only one who is giving Al Shrapton a bad time regarding the issue. Bloomberg's news anchorwoman, Margaret Carlson said, "We've gone from Martin Luther King to the Reverend Al Sharpton, and as a leader, as he is trying to be this weekend, it's very dispiriting"

For Carlson, Al Shrapton could have used his wide influence to raise awareness for the killing, just like he did for other people who were killed in "racial discrimination acts". Shrapton's view that the "system worked" for Chris Lane is unbecoming of someone who campaigns for racial equity for the longest time.
