Is a feud brewing between two of the biggest stars in the music industry? Earlier this week, Kanye West made headlines after meeting with President-elect Donald Trump. It was reported that the rapper headed to the Trump Tower in New York City on Tuesday for a brief meeting with Trump. Now, one of Kanye’s closest friends, John Legend, has something to say about the meeting, claiming that it was a “publicity stunt.”

In an interview with Clique via Us Weekly, the “All of Me” singer said, “I don’t think it’s impossible to talk to [Donald Trump] about issues, but I won’t be used as a publicity stunt.” Legend adds that he thinks that Trump’s meeting with the 39-year-old was a publicity stunt.

After Legend’s comments, it was speculated that a feud might be brewing between the two artists. Fans of the 37-year-old and the “Famous” hitmaker know that the two are very close friends and have been photographed on more than one occasion together. A fan even took to Legend’s Twitter account to ask if he is still friends with the rapper, but the singer did not respond.

Kanye West took to the micro-blogging site to explain his meeting with the President-elect, saying that he feels it is important “to have a direct line of communication with our future President if we truly want change.” The father-of-two said that these issues include bullying, supporting teachers, and addressing the violence in Chicago, among others.

There were allegations that Trump was using the meeting with the rapper to get closer to the black community. However, Grammy-winning songwriter and producer The Dream gave his take on the meeting, saying that everybody, especially Jay Z, should have some face time with Trump. He also said that he knows that eventually, Kanye West will spill the beans about what they really talked about at the Trump Tower.

“Eventually, ‘Ye is going to tell—whatever that is,” said The Dream to Billboard. “And we know ‘Ye is blacker than black. You cannot not go and see him.”

Kanye West’s meeting with Trump follows his hospital stay last month wherein he underwent a psychiatric evaluation, as previously reported by Jobs & Hire. Stay tuned for more news about Kanye West.
