This year, Apple just released the new iPhone 7 and reports are out that iPhone 8 will be released next year. Apple's iPhone 8 will have a new feature, which will make it distinct from the previous iPhones.
Reports indicate that Apple's iPhone 8 will have high-end OLED with a curved display. Unlike the flat panel from the previous iPhones, the upcoming smartphone is speculated to also feature "new touch-sensitive technology".
According to a source, MacRumors, the "premium" iPhone 8 version will have a 5.5-inch OLED screen. It was also highlighted that the screen will have a curve design, which resembles the Samsung Galaxy S7 design. An unnamed source revealed that Samsung will be Apple's supplier for the OLED design. However, iPhone 8 will be using a plastic OLED for the screen.
"The OLED version of the new iPhone will all be curved as Apple ordered all plastic OLED -- not glass -- from Samsung Display. Samsung is capable of supplying a little less than 100 million units of curved OLED displays to Apple," the source revealed.
Apple plans to develop new features and functions for the iPhone8 in order to make it extricate from the Samsung Galaxy S7. Aside from the sensing technology which will allow the user to navigate from any side of the screen, there are other distinct key features.
Rumors insist that iPhone8 will have a built-in glass and wireless charging body, edge-to-edge and bezel-free display, ingrained Touch ID fingerprint sensor and camera. The iconic Home button of the Apple products will, however, be removed.
Meanwhile, BGR revealed that the mass production of the foldable displays will be cared of by the LG Display alongside Microsoft and Google. Since Google and Microsoft are planning for their Pixel phones and Surface-branded devices respectively, it is likely for them to feature their own version of foldable screens.
The reports also indicated that smartphone users could expect iPhone 8 and Galaxy S8 to have the curved OLED displays. Though details about the iPhone 8 are scant, Apple users could expect for another iPhone release next year.
