Hugh Jackman News: 'X-Men' Star Takes Pay Cut For Role As Wolverine On 'Logan'

A huge thanks for Hugh Jackman, the "Logan" film's lead actor for assuring that the upcoming film shows more violence and vulgarity once it hits the big screen. The Wolverine character played by Hugh Jackman is expected to be as violent as the "Deadpool" role.

According to News Everyday, if the "Logan" film was an R-rated film, then that would definitely make sense. Since, Wolverine is a barbaric character especially towards violent enemies. He is very similar to the marvel character Deadpool since both of them were also part of the Weapon X Program. The Weapon X Program is known for experimenting mutants in order to unlock their true potentials. Both characters are also originally known for their manic and merciless nature in the comic books.

Logan/Wolverine have gone through tortures many times. And this is what the upcoming film "Logan" would like to deliver. The "Logan" film aims to tell the story of Wolverine properly and this includes Wolverine being brutal or atrocious. The "Logan" film is the third and final franchise of the Wolverine standalone trilogy at the moment. Meanwhile, the film's director James Mangold revealed that Hugh Jackman chose to receive a reduced salary in order to keep the film, "Logan."

Since the film is expected to be an R-rated film it may earn less at the box office. That is because only viewers at the age of 18 and above are allowed to buy the tickets. If a film was rated "R" which stands for "Restricted," it is at risk when it comes to sales. This is one of the reasons why most blockbuster films try to avoid the rating. This is especially since they have invested a lot of money in the films. Though at some point in order to tell the story appropriately the film needs to be R-rated.

The rating concerns of Fox came after the "Deadpool" movie became the highest grossing R-rated movie of all time. And it is also the best grossing "X-Men" movie. The upcoming film "Logan" is the 10th motion picture in the X-Men series and is scheduled to premiere on March 3, 2017. Despite the film being R-rated, many fans of Hugh Jackman expects the "Logan" film to be worth the wait. Watch the trailer below, and subscribe for more updates!
