Gwyneth Paltrow and Vanity Fair tycoon Graydon Carter have reached a middle ground and made up after months controversy and feuds regarding the "Iron Man"actress' upcoming profile on the magazine.

The feud started when Carter gave the job of profiling Paltrow to Hollywood writer Vanessa Grigoriadis for an upcoming issue of the monthly publication. After the 41-year-old actress found out about Vanity Fair's piece on her, she allegedly messaged her close friends and family members not to disclose any information about her.

"Vanity Fair is threatening to put me on the cover of their magazine . . . If you are asked for quotes or comments, please decline. Also, I recommend you all never do this magazine again," said Gwyneth Paltrow's email regarding the profile.

The actress had also declined the interview for the Vanity Fair article.

Paltrow's response to the piece raised eyebrows and sparked speculation that Vanity Fair plans to unveil parts of her life that the actress has religiously kept hidden. A majority of tabloids and gossip sites speculated on Paltrow trying to keep rumors of her cheating on Chris Martin, her husband of 10 years, with Miami-based billionaire Jeff Soffer.

Gwyneth Paltrow's representative denied rumors of the fling and explained that she and Soffer were simply longtime friends.

Despite the actress' obvious objections, Carter had stood by his initial decision to publish the article.

"We started a story on her. We have a very good writer and it'll run," the magazine mogul said in London's Times Magazine interview in October.
Since the incident, the actress and Carter seemed to have settled their differences and worked things out, according to a source. However, this was only after it was confirmed that the article on Paltrow will be much less controversial than what was initially thought.

"Gwyneth and Graydon spoke on the phone a few weeks ago," a source close to the actress shared to Us Weekly. "They worked out some of their differences."

Agents from both the actress and Vanity Fair's Carter refused to comment on the issue.
