Mary-Louise Parker will star as a mother fighting to save her son from a life of crime in the upcoming prison film "Jamesy Boy."

In Trevor White's first directorial project, Mary-Louise Parker is set to play Tracey, a mother trying but eventually unable to prevent her son from slipping through the cracks of a faulty system and into a life of crime.

"Jamesy Boy" is a film based on the true-to-life story of a troubled teenager named James Burns. The film features a harsh educational system that denies troubled teens their right to education, a struggling young mother hoping to save her only son and a teenager who eventually gives in to the darkness of his heart caused by several failures and pressures in life.

Mary-Louise Parker will star alongside acting newbie Spencer Lofranco who will be playing the role of her son who gets involved in a violent street gang and is eventually caught by the police and thrown in a maximum-security prison.

After being thrown in jail, Mary-Louise Parker's son meets a convicted murderer, played by Ving Rhames, who teaches him the ways of the prison and helps the young boy survive in jail.

In the clip of the movie, an admissions officer of the public school her son is applying for tells Tracey (Parker) that her boy is unfit to attend their school because he may compromise the safety of the other students.

Mary-Louise Parker's character struggles to fight for her son's rights throughout the film but James starts to feel cornered into a dark place where the only options he is left with are bad ones.

"Jamesy Boy" is set to be released on consumer demand starting January 3 and will premier nationwide on January 17 of next year.

"Jamesy Boy" is writer/director Trevor White's directorial debut film. Mary-Louise Parker will star alongside Taissa Farmiga, James Woods and Taboo of famous R&B group Black Eyed Peas.
