It's Denver Nuggets VS Oklahoma City Thunder tonight at 10:30 p.m. ET and the Thunder needs more than a roar to beat the offensive juggernaut that is the Nuggets.
Kevin Durant has been outstanding and has recently posted an NBA season-high point total twice in the past week. However, Durant's skill in the hard court will not be enough unless OKC's defense improves against the Rockies Denver Nuggets.
Thunder's Serge Ibaka will play tonight and is definite welcome to his team's staggering defense. In the Denver Nuggets VS Oklahoma City Thunder game tonight, Ibaka, a two-time All-Defensive team member will spike the team's defense that it lacks at the moment.
"We were missing one of the best presences at the rim, if not the best, in the league," guard Reggie Jackson said of Ibaka, who averages an NBA-high of 3.1 blocks over the past 2 1/2 seasons. "He cleans up a lot of our mistakes."
Ibaka was out Tuesday with flu-like symptoms when Oklahoma City lost to Utah, one of the lowest-scoring teams in the league now. The final score of that match was 112-101.
Tonight's Denver Nuggets VS Oklahoma City Thunder matchup, OKC needs lightning-fast offense against the stonewall game of the Nuggets.
Durant, true to his team's name, rolled and roared like thunder with 48 points for the second time in just three games. But it was not enough against Utah's onslaught considering that the Jazz had the worst scoring average in the Western Conference. They can't afford the same play and game in tonight's Denver Nuggets VS Oklahoma City face-off.
"(I want to see) toughness and even more toughness and some fight," Durant told the team's official website after Oklahoma City trailed by as many as 24 against Utah. "We just have to stay together. We lost a basketball game on the road. It's not the end of the world. ... We just have to regroup and be better next game."
Durant's call may be tough against Denver that averages 125.7 points and shooting 53.1 percent during a three-game winning streak.
In tonight's Denver Nuggets VS Oklahoma City Thunder match, we'll see if Durant and Ibaka can stop the offense of the Nuggets.
