Kurt Angle is reportedly in talks about a potential return to WWE, but his comeback remains left hanging in the balance, while Daniel Bryan will likely be on the sidelines for the next several months.
Angle recently said in an interview that he is indeed open to returning to WWE, saying that he has already mended fences with Vince McMahon, who reportedly got pissed when the former champion left the company.
"As long as Vince and I don't have any issues, I'm OK with that," Angle said. "What I found out is that Triple H is pretty much running the show now. I didn't know that, I really believed that Vince would always run the show until the day he died, but now they're in a position as a publicly traded company where you're not only answering to Vince and Triple H, you're also answering to the shareholders."
Mike Johnson of PW Insider confirmed that Angle and WWE are in talks about a possible reunion, but negotiations took a snag when the WWE offered a full-time contract, which the former Olympic champion reportedly declined, thinking that he can't handle the responsibility anymore.
"WWE sources indicate that they are in conversations with Angle about a return," Johnson wrote. "One source has claimed that the company offered him a full-time deal, but Angle turned that down, feeling his body would not be able to handle a full-time WWE touring schedule."
All is not yet final, though, as WWE is still considering offering a part-time deal, but Angle is also now open to returning to TNA depending on what offer he will get from the company.
"Angle has floated the idea of returning to the company part-time and discussions are still ongoing," Johnson added. "We are also told that Angle is also more than open to returning to TNA if they can come to terms, feeling that Dixie Carter personally and the company as a whole really helped him while he was dealing with her personal issues."
Meanwhile, fans of Daniel Bryan will have to wait a little bit longer before seeing the wrestling superstar on the WWE ring again as reports indicated that he might undergo major surgery.
According to SESCOOPS, Bryan might undergo Tommy John surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right elbow, which could force him to remain on the sideline for the next 6-12 months, which means that fans might not see him at Wrestlemania 31 next year.
