Air Jordan Release Dates 2014 - ‘Slam Dunk’ Collection: Jordan Super Fly 3, AJ 6 Retro Price, Where To Buy

Jordan Brand is set to release two unique sneakers that make up the "Slam Dunk" collection - a collaboration between the popular shoe brand and Japanese manga artist Takehiko Inoue.

New colorways of the Jordan Super Fly 3 and Air Jordan 6 Retro are set hit shelves on Saturday, bearing unique features sneaker fans will surely love.

The Jordan Super Fly 3, Jordan Brand's latest performance model, will be released in Black/White-Varsity Red colorway and will be available for $185 per pair.

This edition has a black-based upper part enhanced with sketches, showing Hanamichi Sakuragi, who is the main character in the popular Japanese manga series "Slam Dunk" that was written by Inoue.

"The Jordan Brand's latest performance model - the Jordan Super.Fly 3 - is the canvas for the new sketches of the "Slam Dunk" world. The all-black upper provides the perfect backdrop to showcase the continued on-court legacy of Sakuragi. Even the shoebox serves as an additional platform to tell Sakuragi's continued story," the shoe as described by Nike.

On the other hand, the Air Jordan 6 Retro "Slam Dunk" sports a red-based upper part with a unique design inspired by the Japanese basketball series. It will also come out on Saturday and will be available for $250 per pair.

"The limited Slam Dunk edition has an interesting take on the iconic silhouette. An all-red upper features the iconic imagery fans of the 31-volumed manga series have grown to love," Nike noted. "The images highlight moments from the series, paying tribute to the legacy of Sakuragi's personal growth and on-court talent."

Instead of the usual No. 23 stitching, Jordan Brand opted to use No. 10 - the jersey number of Sakuragi in the popular series. According to Inoue, Jordan inspired him to create "Slam Dunk" that was translated into different languages worldwide.

"I have been hugely inspired by Michael Jordan's game, as well as his attitude. It's been a great honor to have this opportunity," Inoue said. "At first, he was someone from a different planet - he could stay in the air longer than anybody else. Then I began to see him as someone who always encourages you to set a vision and challenge yourself to achieve it."
