After suffering a 33-10 setback at the hands of the Eagles last November 27, the Cowboys put themselves back in contention for the NFC East title with a 41-28 rout of Chicago Bears on December 4.
The Cowboys, who last saw action in the postseason in 2009, could secure a playoff seat with a victory against their arch-rival. Veteran quarterback Tony Romo and running back DeMarco Murray will once again lead Dallas offense, which is ranked 18th in passing yards (229 ypg) and 3rd in rushing yards (149.1 ypg).
"We are a running team that makes it difficult because we can throw it at a high rate, and we can be aggressive with it," Romo told the Cowboys' official website via ESPN. "We have a very good nucleus, and these guys have to put their egos at the door for us to really be successful. And, they all have.
Meanwhile, the Eagles will try to bounce back from a 24-14 loss to the Seattle Seahawks last week. Mark Sanchez, who thrown for 1,500 yards and 10 TDs this season, was held to just 96 passing yards with two touchdowns and one interception in the loss.
Ranking 8th and 7th in passing and rushing yards per game, the Eagles only managed to score 14 points and 139 all-purpose yards in that game.
Eagles head coach Chip Kelly is anticipating a more resilient effort from the Cowboys, who are trying to erase the nightmare of their 33-10 loss at AT&T Stadium.
"I think they're going to do what they do, and we're going to do what we do," coach Chip Kelly said. "Hopefully we can be as successful again, but I know they're going to give us their best shot. I think that will be a really interesting matchup, their O-line versus our D-line."
