It has been almost a year since the major cliffhanging season two finale of "Hannibal" last May premiered on television. But as "Hannibal" Season 3 returns after months in hiatus, the frustrations will be finally replaced with eagerness in finding answers on what comes next in the gore-filled saga of Hannibal Lecter.

Since "Hannibal" Season 3 is about to wreak havoc on primetime television, we are sharing 6 spine-tingling details to watch out for as it premieres this June.

1. The third season will debut with a new timeslot.

"Hannibal" Season 3 will be a 13-episode series, which will premiere on June 4. As previously reported, the series will have a new timeslot, which will be on Thursdays at 10 p.m.

2. The upcoming season will be split up into two separate parts of seven and six episodes, Digital Spy hinted.

The first seven Italian cuisine-based titled episodes will focus on the aftermath of the last season's cliffhanging finale, which was Hannibal's epic face-off with Will, Jack and Alana in the US. It will also follow the gruesome doctor's expedition in Florence, Italy.

The last six episodes will feature a significant time jump and will start with a new twist centered on serial killer Francis Dolarhyde. According to Ecumenical News, the second half will also show Lecter's moments behind bars.

3. "Hannibal" Season 3 to return with four different timelines?

The most dreaded doctor in the history of television will finally return in four different timelines. Latin Post revealed "Hannibal" showrunner Bryan Fuller recently posted a Twitter update.

"THE #HANNIBAL SEASON 3 OPENER TAKES PLACE OVER FOUR DIFFERENT PERIODS OF TIME #HannibalReturnsJune4" Fuller tweeted.

4. "Hannibal" Season 3 will be helmed by some notable directors.

Fuller added the eighth episode titled, "The Great Red Dragon," will be helmed by "Game of Thrones" and "Constantine" director Neil Marshall, Christian Today reported. While recent reports claim that acclaimed Mexican director Guillermo del Toro will be directing some of the series' episodes, Franchise Herald cited that del Toro is not connected to the show.

In line with the report, Di Laurentiies Company clarified via a Twitter post that the name of the real director, Guillermo Navarro, was just misspelled. In addition to Marshall and Navarro, Vincenzo Natali and Michael Rymer are also set to direct of the episodes of "Hannibal" Season 3.

5. "Hannibal" Season 3 will be filled with dramatic revelations.

As noted by Screen Rant, the third season will incorporate elements from several of the original source novels in order to add an element of surprise to the story.

6. First trailer and "Antipasto" synopsis revealed.

"After the shocking events of the season finale, Hannibal is on the run in Europe - accompanied by his psychiatrist Bedelia Du Maurier - sporting a new identity but servicing the same insatiable appetite," the official synopsis reads. "As the lives of Will, Jack and Alana converge toward Hannibal again, their deadly dance turns in startling and unexpected ways, and nothing will ever be the same again."
