Finally after almost four months of waiting when Blue Bell Creameries recalled its delicious dessert amid Listeria contamination, ice creams lovers will get another taste of heaven as Blue Bell ice cream hits supermarket shelves again today.
According to KBTX.com, some people have commented that they have declined eating another brand of ice cream throughout the whole summer. In Brenhams' "Must Be Heaven," managers geared up for the expected large crowds that will fill up the store when Blue Bell ice cream makes its comeback.
Viviana Rios, a "Scoops" employee said, folks have been questioning all summer long of Blue Bell's return. "Now, they will be asking us, what flavor do you have."
However, only four flavors sold in half gallons will be available as of the moment — Dutch Chocolate, Homemade Vanilla, Great Divide and Cookies and Cream — due to restricted production.
The first stores to have access to Blue Bell ice cream include Brenham, College Station, Bryan, Austin, Houston, Texas areas, as well as portions of Montgomery, Alabama and Birmingham.
Ice cream buyers will be confined to shopping for two gallons each to give access to as many loyal Blue Bell customers as possible, as per CBS DFW.
Bulletin Leader has learned that at Gallery Furniture's three locale across Houston, customers can avail of a free, complimentary Blue Bell ice cream in Homemade Vanilla flavor.
Blue Bell Creameries' products have been recalled in April 20 as its Blue Bell ice cream were linked to 10 Listeria cases in four states. The company's production facilities in Oklahoma, Broken Arrow and Brenham are still undergoing major upgrades identical in nature to that of the Alabama plant. In the second phase of the rollout, North Texas will be included, as to when that will be, no specific date has been revealed yet of its resumption of production.
