"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" prequel introduced Thomas, played by "Teen Wolf" actor Dylan O'Brien, as the last male to enter the Glade.
"Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" trailer and teaser clips unveiled in the previous weeks gave the public a glimpse on what happened after the Gladers were taken from the Maze, but nothing really much on the main protagonist.
The "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" teaser video, which premiered on MovieFone, revealed that Thomas had been tagged. At the end of the clip, the new character Jorge exposed that Thomas was from WCKD, and that he was valuable.
The clip seemed to have succeeded in teasing as new questions plague the thoughts of the fans. How and what makes Thomas valuable are just a few of those questions.
"The Scorch Trials" picks up from where "Maze Runner" left off -— Thomas and the others surviving the Maze and were taken by a helicopter. While many are still speculating on what to expect for the upcoming sequel, director Wes Ball has fast-forwarded the track, and gave a few hints about "Maze Runner 3."
During the "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'" press day in L.A., he teased that "Maze Runner: The Death Cure" will be having a one-year time jump, the Collider learned. He also hinted that some elements from the third installment will be incorporated to the second movie.
"This next one will be cool because we're gonna cut maybe a year later. Yeah, so it'll be cool. Some things have happened off screen, which is gonna make the movie feel even bigger," Ball said.
The director said they are now working on the third film, making it better and cooler than the first and the second "Maze Runner."
"It's gonna be a different kind of an engine, a different kind of genre almost and a different sort of color palette and terrain," he continued.
There may not be any booked movie spots yet, but the director reportedly expressed interest filming in Vancouver.
For the "Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials" additional spoiler, Ball said it was designed as a "start the movie and go" kind of thing.
MPAA Rating for the movie is PG-13, according to Herald Media. Mark your calendar guys because the movie will premiere on Sept. 18.
